UR Seafood is a well-established Icelandic seafood company that manages the freezer trawler Gudmundur i Nesi RE 13.

UR Seafood has consistently placed the emphasis on all fishing vessels in operation being, first and foremost, reliable and sound.

Products

Thefish is caught from the chilly arctic waters, processed and immediately deep frozen at a temperature of below -18°C within 4.5 hours after getting reeled in. This ‘locks in’ the quality throughout the value chain until it reaches our customers around the world.

Quality & environment policy

UR Seafood produces both fresh and frozen seafood products for the domestic and international markets and is leading quality in all of the company’s markets.

Strict quality objectives and operational procedures based on the HACCP risk assessment are followed and respected by the company every step of the way. Strong internal control measures further ensure the safety and wholesomeness of the products. Iceland is dependent on the sustainability of its natural resources, the protection of which is a top priority for UR Seafood.

The company is very aware of the effect overfishing can have on both the environment and the economy and is committed to approach the ocean’s resources with the deepest respect, whether that pertains to keeping the company’s carbon footprint to its bare minimum or to maximizing the utilization as well as protection of the fishing stock.
